Sad Sack Eagles Lose 8th Straight
The New York Knickerbockers picked up a win at Knickerbocker Stadium, taking down the Washington Eagles, 4-2. Starting pitcher Bruce Owen was a big reason why. New York is off to a hot start at 14-6.

New York took a 4-2 lead on Steve Hudson's 3rd double of the season. The 2-run double, which Hudson hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Washington pitcher Brian Alfieri visibly frustrated.

After the game, New York manager William Bowen applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
