Rutherford Stops Chicago Cold, 4-0
|
Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Chicago Traders as starter Damon Rutherford shut them out, 4-0, at Union Field. The Brooklyn pitcher struck out 2 and walked 0 while allowing 3 hits.
"Rutherford was good but he wasn't flawless," Chicago manager Larry Link said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from Brooklyn, but this is on us."
This season, Rutherford has compiled a 3-1 mark with a 3.82 ERA.
