5 Straight Wins for Drillers
The Houston Drillers beat the Los Angeles Pobladores, 8-3, at San Vicente Park. Charlie Fee, who is tied for 8th in the ABL in home runs with 3, starred for Houston. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs. The Pobladores drop to 8-12, as their fitful start to the 1974 campaign continues.

Houston used the timely hitting of Jackie Frost to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Drillers on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Fee.
