The Cleveland Bobcats wasted an inspired, 8-inning effort from starter Myron Baird, falling, 2-1, to the Brooklyn Bluebirds at Lakefront Stadium. The Bluebirds raised their record to 13-7.

Tom Pena, who is tied for 8th in the NBL in doubles with 5, had a direct impact on the outcome. Pena contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the 12th inning to put Brooklyn up, 2-1.

"We did just enough to win," Pena said.
