Captains 6-1 Winners Over Milwaukee
San Diego picked up a win at San Diego Sporting Complex, bumping off the Milwaukee Dairymen, 6-1. Pitcher Ray Heath was a major reason the Captains emerged victorious. The winner was Heath. He threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was John Gannon. The win gives San Diego a record of 12-8.

Earl Peters had a big 3-run home run for the Captains in the bottom of the fourth inning. With San Diego leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a changeup from two-time All-Star John Gannon and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Captains on top, 5-0.

"We came in and got the job done. That's what it's all about in this business," said Heath.
