Terriers Trip Seagulls, 3-2, in Extra Innings
|
The Boston Terriers got a good effort from starter Paul Wiley in defeating the San Francisco Seagulls at Atlantic Avenue Grounds. The final score was 3-2. The win belongs to Brian Long in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Dennis Dixon took the loss for San Francisco. Despite the loss, San Francisco still owns an impressive 13-7 record.
The Terriers procured the win, in large part because of pinch hitter Dean Potvin. In the bottom of the 12th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Boston skipper Tim Hageman.
