Traders Even With Explorers After Home Win
|
Leave it to the veteran.
The Chicago Traders got a great start from 36-year-old right-hander Jose Mojica, as Chicago won the contest, 5-2, at Union Field. Mojica threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball in the win, which knotted the best-of-7 series at 1-1.
Chicago took advantage of an error in the bottom of the seventh inning. The game was tied, 2-2, when Ken Mays hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Traders in front, 3-2.
"I really like what we did out there today," Mays said after the game.
The next game is set to be played for Friday, September 30th , 1977 at Corps of Discovery Stadium in St. Louis.
