St. Louis Pins 1-0 Loss on Kansas City
Bob Trout pitched a gem to help the St. Louis Explorers escape with a tight, 1-0 victory over the Kansas City Bulls in a low-scoring League Championship Series contest. The right-handed Trout threw 7.1 innings of shutout ball in the win, just enough for the Explorers on a day when their offense dried up. St. Louis now leads the best-of-7 series 2-0.

The Bulls had trouble solving Trout, who surrendered no runs on 1 hit over 7.1 innings.

Trout told a St. Louis Observer reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.

The next game is set to be played for Sunday, October 9th , 1977 at Corps of Discovery Stadium in St. Louis.
