Bluebirds, Explorers Play 11 to Settle Game 2, Brooklyn Now Leads Series 2-0
With right-hander Dick Conway leading the charge, the Brooklyn Bluebirds got past the St. Louis Explorers, 6-2, in extra innings in Game 2 of the Divisional Series today. Conway threw 9.0 innings of 8-hit ball at Corps of Discovery Stadium as Brooklyn managed to grab a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Brooklyn used a clutch hit from John Seidler to get the win. The left fielder drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Bluebirds ahead, 6-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We haven't stopped playing," St. Louis manager Ray Fleetwood said. "We didn't get this far to give up."

The next game is set to be played for Friday, October 4th , 1968 at Flatbush Park in Brooklyn.
