The San Francisco Seagulls have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Houston Drillers, winning, 5-2, at Mission Field. Seagulls right-hander Tim Stambaugh threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Seagulls to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Divisional Round.

Had Armando Amador delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Amador lined out. The score remained 4-2, San Francisco, and the Seagulls were out of the jam.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Mission Field in San Francisco.
