Pivotal Game 5 Goes to Host Seagulls, 5-0
|
In a pivotal Game 5, the San Francisco Seagulls were hoping for a big game from starter Reggie Wright. They got one.
The right-hander shut out the Houston Drillers, proving to be the difference-maker as he led his club to a 5-0 victory. The Seagulls took the 5-0 win over the Houston Drillers to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Wright went the distance for San Francisco, allowing no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 5.
San Francisco manager Al Borie called it "a good, solid win."
The next game is set to be played for Tuesday, October 6th , 1970 at Sam Houston Field in Houston.
