Seagulls Top Habitants, 3-0, to Begin LCS
Ray Heath and the San Francisco Seagulls opened the League Championship Series in brilliant fashion, traveling to Montreal and shutting out the host Habitants at LaSalle Stadium, 3-0, to secure an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Heath, the Seagulls right-hander, threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball.

San Francisco starter Ray Heath showed the eye of a tiger. The right-hander allowed no runs, while limiting Montreal to 3 hits over 8 innings. He was tough to hit.

"Ray did a nice job," said Seagulls manager Al Borie.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at LaSalle Stadium in Montreal.
