|
The Baltimore Lords got a strong performance from pitcher Nate Summers, who stymied the visiting Houston Drillers en route to a win, 6-0, in Game 2 of the League Championship Series. The Drillers could never get a bead on the right-handed Summers, who threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball. The Lords now hold a 2-0 in the best-of-7 series.
Summers, who was born in Druid Hills, Georgia, threw 116 pitches over 6.2 innings, while allowing no runs.
Baltimore manager Steve Read commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at Sam Houston Field in Houston.
