Seagulls Clip Habitants, 2-1, in LCS Contest
|
The San Francisco Seagulls moved to within one game of the World Series, downing the visiting Montreal Habitants at Mission Field by a score of 2-1. Seagulls right-hander Tim Stambaugh had a strong outing in which he threw 8.0 innings of 2-hit ball. The win gives the Seagulls a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.
San Francisco starter Tim Stambaugh pitched like a boss. The 5-foot-11 right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits over 8 innings.
"I liked his command," said San Francisco manager Al Borie. "Tim was throwing strikes."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Mission Field in San Francisco.
