Raucous Sam Houston Field Crowd Propels Drillers to 4-2 Victory; Series Tied at 2
|
The Houston Drillers took down the Baltimore Lords by the score of 4-2 and moved into a 2-2 tie in the League Championship Series. The largest share of the credit belongs to Houston starter Bill Switzer, who threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball.
In the bottom of the 3rd, Houston took the lead on a 2-run double by Mike Lockhart. At the time, the Drillers were trailing 2-1, but Lockhart's hit with two outs against Baltimore pitcher John Pardoe put them in front, 3-2.
"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Lockhart.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Sam Houston Field in Houston.
