If the Montreal Habitants were expecting the pressure of the playoffs to get to Jeff Butler, they underestimated the old man.

The San Francisco Seagulls got a strong start from the 37-year-old right-hander. Butler threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball as San Francisco won the contest, 8-1, at LaSalle Stadium to take the lead in their best-of-7 series with the Habitants. The Seagulls now lead 1-0.

With no one out in the top of the second, Darrell Martin barreled up a sinker from Manny Esparza. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Seagulls in front, 3-0.

"I was just trying to execute one pitch at a time," said Butler.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at LaSalle Stadium in Montreal.
