League Championship Series Goes the Distance, Denver Prevails
|
When the entire season comes down to one game, Guillaume Moret said you find out what a team is really about.
As it turns out, the Denver Burros are made of fight and tenacity, as the team got by the Pittsburgh Industrials 7-3 tonight at Gates Crescent Park in order to win the League Championship Series and book a place in the next round.
"It wasn't hard to get excited for this game," said Moret, whose strong offensive output earned him MVP honors. "Our guys answered the call and proved a lot about what our team is all about."
Moret hit .440 with a .576 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 11 runs.
The Denver Burros will play against the San Francisco Seagulls in the next round. San Francisco won their series against the Houston Drillers 4 games to 1. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
