Houston Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in LCS
The Houston Drillers got a strong performance from pitcher Syed Farooqi, who stymied the visiting Detroit Wolverines en route to a win, 11-0, in Game 3 of the League Championship Series. The Wolverines could never get a bead on the right-handed Farooqi, who threw 9.0 innings of shutout ball. The Drillers now hold a 2-1 in the best-of-7 series.

Farooqi was in the zone all game. He frustrated Detroit hitters while giving the Drillers 9 innings of quality work. Farooqi threw 131 pitches, allowing 1 hit and getting 5 punchouts.

"What a debacle," groaned Detroit manager Alex Wobbema in postgame remarks.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Sam Houston Field in Houston.
