Almost There: San Francisco On Cusp of LCS Triumph After 5-4 Win
The San Francisco Seagulls moved to within one game of the World Series, downing the visiting Houston Drillers at Mission Field by a score of 5-4. Seagulls right-hander Tim Stambaugh had a strong outing in which he threw 6.0 innings allowing 4 runs. The win gives the Seagulls a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.

John Cobb helped out the San Francisco cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the second baseman was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs.

"Feels good to get the job done," Cobb said after the game.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Mission Field in San Francisco.
