San Francisco Draws First Blood in World Series With 7-5 Win
One game in and the World Series is already looking exhausting.

The San Francisco Seagulls and the Denver Burros needed 12 innings to settle Game 1, with the Seagulls finally taking the 7-5 victory at Gates Crescent Park. Excelling in the win was San Francisco pitcher Jerry Patrick, who threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The Seagulls and Burros are playing a best-of-7 series.

San Francisco needed the clutch hitting of Chuck Roberts to seal the deal. The shortstop swatted a solo home run in the top of the 12th inning to put the Seagulls on top, 6-5. For the game, Roberts had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said Denver manager Clark Anderson.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Gates Crescent Park in Denver.
