Barroso Hits 2 home runs in Seagulls Win
|
The San Francisco Seagulls trumped the Twin Cities Northmen, 6-3, at Mission Field. San Francisco catcher Jose Barroso was terrific. He was 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Tim Stambaugh picked up the win, improving his season record to 3-2. He struck out 4 in 8 innings. Paul Wiley was called on to finish, recording his 3rd save.
Early in the game, Barroso had a 3-run home run for San Francisco. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Seagulls on top, 3-0.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Barroso.
The triumph makes San Francisco 11-9, as the team begins another long trek toward the playoffs in 1973.
