The Houston Drillers beat the Seattle Emeralds, 10-2, at Puget Field. Houston center fielder Mark Sisson had an outstanding performance. He slugged 2 home runs. He scored 4 runs and drove in 4. Syed Farooqi, the winning pitcher, is now 2-2. He went 8 innings, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits, while fanning 5 and walking 1. The loss makes Seattle 9-10.

With Houston leading 1-0 in the top of the fourth, Sisson hit a cutter from Tim McDonald for a solo home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Drillers ahead, 2-0.

"You can't sugarcoat this one," said Seattle manager Mark Velez. "We got flat-out beat."
