6-4 Win Takes Empires to 11-10
|
The New York Empires picked up a win at Queens Field, knocking off the Detroit Wolverines, 6-4. Starting pitcher Nate Frampton played a key role in the triumph. For Detroit, now 15-4, wins have been plentiful, losses few.
New York first baseman Danny Bueno contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a sinker to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 25th hit of the season and put the Empires ahead, 3-2.
"You have to trust that what you're doing is going to produce results," said Frampton.
