The Los Angeles Pobladores beat the Houston Drillers, 6-5, at San Vicente Park. Los Angeles first baseman Chuck Gunter had the hot bat. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The Drillers drop to 10-10 and continue their inconsistent start to the 1974 season.

Marty Berberet was the walk-off hero for Los Angeles. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Pobladores second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We couldn't have scripted it any better," Gunter said in his postgame press conference.
