Bobcats Top Bluebirds, 8-7
The Cleveland Bobcats got a hard-earned win over the Brooklyn Bluebirds, 8-7, in 13 innings. Mark Bassett provided some offensive muscle for Cleveland. He went 4 for 6 with a triple and 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win leaves Cleveland with a record of 13-8.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 13th inning, when Cleveland first baseman Don Pelletier, facing Frank D'Amico, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Bobcats the 8-7 win.

"The game of baseball will test you," said Daniel Mays, the Cleveland skipper. "This one tested us."
