The performance of Troy Stallings proved critical in helping Detroit beat New York, 7-1. The Wolverines first baseman was 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. The win gives Detroit a record of 13-8.

Stallings had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a first pitch splitter from Jon Pierce, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Wolverines a 2-1 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Stallings.
