Industrials Earn Clutch Win, 13-12
In the 13-12 Pittsburgh win over New York, the impact of Carlos Chavez was substantial. Chavez, who is tied for 5th in the NBL in triples with 2, was 4-5 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 4. John Lonergan, credited with the win in relief, is now 4-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1 innings. The triumph makes Pittsburgh 12-9, as the team begins another long trek toward the playoffs in 1972.

The Industrials got a clutch hit from third baseman Keith MacPherson. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Industrials.

"Put a star next to this win," MacPherson said.
