Cox Helps Traders Defeat Captains, 13-6
The Chicago Traders topped the San Diego Captains, 13-6, in National Baseball League action at Union Field. The standout performance belonged to Chicago right fielder and Walnut, California, native Larry Cox. Jose Mojica got credit for the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 5 runs on 9 hits in 6 innings. San Diego falls to 10-11.

Ed White had a big 2-run double for the Traders in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Chicago leading 4-2 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a slider from 24-year old left-handed pitcher Ray McKenzie and swatted a double to center. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Traders ahead, 6-2.

"Baseball is about momentum," said Cox, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
