Industrials Edge Past Packers, 1-0
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Pittsburgh Industrials and the Cincinnati Packers, Roger Long was the difference-maker. The Pittsburgh right-hander spearheaded the 1-0 win. Long went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 4. His record improves to 2-1. Bob Cole locked down his 3rd save.
Pittsburgh took a 1-0 lead on Hillyer Bryan's 4th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Bryan hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Cincinnati pitcher Ramon Juarez visibly frustrated.
Bryan called the triumph "a good team win."
The loss puts Cincinnati at 13-9.
