Terriers Earn 3-2 Win Versus Seagulls
|
For the home crowd, it was a thrilling walk-off win.
Boston Terriers starter Jeff Butler turned in a sterling performance against the San Francisco Seagulls, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Boston reliever Brian Long was the winner. His record is now 3-0. The losing pitcher was Chuck Porter.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Boston pinch hitter Eddie Ellison, facing Chuck Porter, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Terriers the 3-2 win.
"It's fun coming to the ballpark," said Butler, "when you're on this kind of roll."
The Terriers, now 16-6, have been sizzling early on.
