Washington 4-2 Losers to Dairymen
|
The 1976 season is off to a good start for the Milwaukee Dairymen. The hometown Dairymen knocked off the Washington Eagles, 4-2, at Milwaukee Municipal Stadium. Milwaukee pitcher Andy Campbell paced his team to the win. Campbell yielded 2 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 4, and struck out 3. His record improves to 1-0. The save went to Archie Sereni, his 1st this season.
Larry Morford, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1966 draft, helped out the Milwaukee cause in the bottom of the first inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the left fielder was 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk.
Morford called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
