The Atlanta Generals reigned over the Baltimore Lords in damp conditions.

In a low-scoring affair between the Atlanta Generals and the Baltimore Lords, pitcher John Phillips was the difference between victory and defeat. The Atlanta right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-1 Generals win. Ron Winder earned the save for Atlanta, his 4th.

The game was at a stalemate until third baseman John Darnell came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Baltimore pitcher John Fredrick, he hit a 1-2 sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Atlanta on top, 1-0.

"Nice to keep stacking the wins," said Darnell.

Atlanta is now 14-7.
