Don Achber was locked in. The left-hander led the Baltimore Lords to a 2-1 win against the Boston Terriers at Seton Hill Stadium. In 6 innings, Achber surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Denny Boyd earned the save for Baltimore, his 2nd of the year.
The Lords got a big at-bat from second baseman Jim Pavlik. For the game, Pavlik went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Baltimore a 2-1 lead.
"I give credit to my teammates for this win. We got it done," Pavlik told the Baltimore Daily.
The Terriers are now 7-14.
