The New York Knickerbockers clobbered the Philadelphia Quakers, 14-2, at Quakers Stadium. Leading the onslaught was Bob Underwood. He belted 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for New York. Vern Gould picked up the win, lifting his record to 3-1 on the season. He struck out 3 and walked 2 in 7 innings, while yielding 2 runs. The setback makes the Quakers 9-14.

New York used a clutch at-bat from Bob Marston to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Knickerbockers ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"Nothing to write home about," Philadelphia manager Jeff Green said, when asked afterward about the game.
