Knickerbockers Suffer 6-4 Home Defeat
|
The Milwaukee Dairymen defeated the New York Knickerbockers, 6-4, in National Baseball League action at Knickerbocker Stadium. Milwaukee pitcher Danny Guerra had a standout performance. The winner was Guerra. He threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Ray Schifsky. Milwaukee goes to 10-12.
A key moment came with two out in the top of the second. That's when Guerra hit a fastball from Ray Schifsky for a 2-run single, putting Milwaukee up, 2-0.
"Main thing is I want the team to win," Guerra told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
