Both teams had their chances, but the Washington Eagles eventually prevailed.

The Washington Eagles earned a close win over the Philadelphia Quakers, thanks in part to Dave Alexander. The Washington right-hander, who is tied for 3rd in the NBL in innings pitched with 39.1, played a key role in the 3-2 victory. Philadelphia, at 5-18, is off to a poor start in 1975.

Washington used a well-timed hit by George Kill to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Eagles ahead, 3-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Philadelphia manager Jeff Green. "The effort was great."
