Industrials Beat Los Angeles, 7-6
|
The Pittsburgh Industrials did just enough to secure a victory over the Los Angeles Blockbusters, 7-6, in 10 innings at Allegheny Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Ron Winder. Mike Gresley, credited with the win in relief, is now 3-1. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. Pittsburgh has a record of 13-10.
The Industrials got a clutch hit from first baseman Willie Cooper. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Industrials.
"He who laughs last laughs best," Cooper said, postgame.
