Dave Church, who finished 4th in the NBL in innings pitched with 254.1 in 1962, was terrific for the Twin Cities Northmen in his team's 3-1 triumph over the Boston Terriers. His performance earned Church rave reviews. In 7 innings, Church surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. The Terriers, now 7-16, continue their slow start.

Twin Cities took a 3-1 lead on Steve Garcia's 1st double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Garcia hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Boston pitcher Ken Torkelson visibly frustrated.

"Every loss hurts," said Boston manager Jonah Placeholder. "But this was a tough one."
