4-2 Triumph Takes Atlanta to 15-7
|
The Atlanta Generals beat the Los Angeles Pobladores, 4-2, at Atlantic Station Field. The Generals got a fine performance from left fielder Ed Mika, who was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Getting the save was Frank Noorani, his 7th. The Generals, now 15-7, have been playing some good baseball.
Larry Moses, who finished 4th in the NBL in hits with 166 in 1963, helped out the Atlanta cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the third baseman went 1-3 with a walk.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Atlanta skipper Philipe Yazzie.
