Burros Win at Home, 5-1
|
Behind an impressive start by Kim Glanden, Denver beat Kansas City, 5-1. The Burros, now 17-7, have played inspired baseball.
Manuel Andrade had a big 2-run double for the Burros in the bottom of the first inning. With Denver leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Mike Brown, who is tied for 5th in the NBL in complete games with 1, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Burros ahead, 4-0.
Denver manager Clark Anderson commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
