Terriers Win at Twin Cities, 5-1
|
The Boston Terriers reigned over the Twin Cities Northmen in damp conditions.
Don Bozza, who is tied for 3rd in the ABL with a .371 batting average, led Boston to a triumph over Twin Cities. The final score was 5-1. The catcher went 3 for 4, falling a triple shy of the cycle. He scored 3 runs and added 1 RBI. The victory makes Boston 10-14.
Angel Gutierrez had a big 2-run home run for the Terriers in the top of the fifth inning. With Boston leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a changeup from Charlie Sokol, the 7th overall pick in the 1961 draft, and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Terriers on top, 4-0.
Gutierrez attributed the win to "concerted effort and focus."
