Toronto Offense Jammed Up by Habitants
|
Montreal Habitants pitcher Rich Barron was in top form, leading his team past the Toronto Hurons, 3-0. Barron got the win, improving to 2-0. He gave up 6 hits and walked 3 over 6.1 innings. He allowed no runs. Al Johns notched his 6th save of the season.
The Habitants got a big at-bat from right fielder Jerry Sullivan. For the game, Sullivan was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 5th double of the season gave Montreal a 2-0 lead.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Montreal manager Michel Alexandre Cauchon said.
Montreal, with the win, is 16-8.
