Quakers Stumble, Lose to Bulls
|
The Kansas City Bulls downed the Philadelphia Quakers, 9-1, at Independence Field. The Bulls were led by Haskell McLemore. McLemore was 1-3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. Kansas City has a record of 12-13.
In the bottom of the 1st, Kansas City took the lead on a 2-run single by Dave Lester. At the time, the Bulls were trailing 1-0, but Lester's hit with two outs against Philadelphia pitcher Mel Hartman put them in front, 2-1.
"No time for flexing," said Lester. "It's always one game at a time."
