Packers Snag 5-3 Win
|
Cincinnati Packers starter Fernando Lopez was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Denver Burros, 5-3. Lopez, the winner, moves to 3-3. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 1 walk. Denver is now 17-9.
Dave Taranto provided a timely hit. The Cincinnati first baseman delivered a bases-clearing triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Packers on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"We'll savor this win," Lopez told the Cincinnati Daily News, "then get ready for the next game."
