Loss to Terriers Extends Twin Cities Losing Streak
|
Boston turned a good performance from starting pitcher Bruce Shurtleff into a 5-1 triumph over the Twin Cities Northmen at Twin Cities Stadium. In 8 innings, Shurtleff surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 4. He allowed 1 run. Now 11-14, the Northmen have not played well this season.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Paul Knight? The Boston catcher had a run-scoring double in the top of the second inning to put the Terriers on top, 2-1. For the game, Knight had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We're not exactly playing great right now," said Jason Gudim, the Twin Cities manager.
