Burros Need Extra Frames to Get Past Explorers
The Denver Burros cut down the St. Louis Explorers by the score of 6-5 in 11 innings. Much of the credit went to left fielder Leo Sentner. Sentner was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 walks for the Burros. The victory makes Denver 17-9, as the team seeks a return to the playoffs in 1972.

Denver got a clutch hit from Tom Gregory. The shortstop launched a solo home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.

"Our team found a way to get it done," said Sentner.
