Briggs Throws 5-Hitter En Route to 4-1 Industrials Win
|
The Pittsburgh Industrials racked up a win at Allegheny Field, bumping off the Brooklyn Bluebirds, 4-1. Bob Briggs, who started for Pittsburgh, pitched effectively for his team. Pittsburgh goes to 3-0.
Briggs, who dominated for Pittsburgh, earned the victory to move to 1-0. He was in control the whole game, scattering 5 hits over 9 innings, while striking out 5. Brooklyn batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"I made good pitches, kept the ball out of the middle of the plate for the most part," said Briggs.
