Blockbusters Absorb 6-3 Home Loss
The Cleveland Bobcats topped the Los Angeles Blockbusters, 6-3, in National Baseball League action at Blockbuster Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Cleveland pitcher Roger Scherf. Scherf yielded 3 runs over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 10 hits, walked 4, and struck out 5. His record improves to 4-2. The Blockbusters fall to 11-15 and continue to sputter in the early going.

Kevin Musumeci had a big 2-run double for the Bobcats in the top of the third inning. With Cleveland leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a cutter from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Larry Messenger and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bobcats ahead, 4-0.

"Roger giving us the start that he did was huge," said Cleveland manager Daniel Mays.
