Denver Beats St. Louis, 8-5
|
Though he had a stellar game, Gary Parker could not prevent his team, the St. Louis Explorers, from losing, 8-5, to the Denver Burros. Parker was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Bob Langham picked up the win, improving his season record to 3-1. He struck out 4 in 6 innings. The save was credited to Joe Hamby, his 7th.
Denver pitcher Bob Langham made an impact. He drilled a 2-run single in the bottom of the fifth. In the contest, Langham threw 6.0 innings allowing 3 runs.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Denver manager Clark Anderson.
Denver goes to 17-9.
