Brooklyn Beats Milwaukee, 7-1
|
Though the conditions were not ideal, the Brooklyn Bluebirds and Milwaukee Dairymen came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
The Brooklyn Bluebirds trumped the Milwaukee Dairymen, 7-1, at Flatbush Park. Brooklyn right fielder Jackie Cooper was terrific. He went 3-4 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI. The winner in relief was Dave Teckenbrock. He is now 1-0. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 4.1 innings.
Greg Landrum helped his team take an early lead with a run-scoring single. It came in the first inning, making the score 1-0, Bluebirds.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Cooper.
With the loss, Milwaukee sinks to 8-17.
