Los Angeles starter Billy Duprey pitched well against the Cincinnati Packers at Roman Arena. The left-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. With the loss, Cincinnati drops to 9-18.

Cory Ruoff, who finished 4th in the NBL in triples with 10 in 1966, helped out the Los Angeles cause in the top of the sixth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the center fielder drew 1 walk.
