The New York Empires eked out a 2-1 win versus the Twin Cities Northmen at Twin Cities Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Larry Stanford. He was terrific. New York goes to 16-10.

Rick Lintner, who is tied for 4th in the ABL with a .412 on-base percentage, had a direct impact on the outcome. Lintner contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put New York up, 2-0.

"My job is to go out and execute," said Stanford.
