In a well-pitched game between the San Diego Captains and the Cleveland Bobcats, pitcher Jeff Ferguson was superb. The San Diego left-hander helped his team win, 2-1. Ed Prater earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. His record is now 1-0.

The Captains got a clutch hit from right fielder Mike Alford. In the bottom of the 15th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Captains.
