Burros Lose to Explorers, 4-3
|
The Denver Burros were defeated, 4-3, by the St. Louis Explorers at Gates Crescent Park, even though Bart Dunsley pitched well for Denver. The win puts St. Louis at 16-11.
The Explorers got a big at-bat from first baseman Tom Adams. For the game, Adams went 1-4 with a triple. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the top of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing triple. His 2nd triple of the season gave St. Louis a 3-0 lead.
"We were the better team," crowed Adams.
