Knickerbockers Fall Short, 5-4, at Kansas City
Kansas City shortstop Harvey Alterman made his presence felt in the 5-4 Bulls triumph over the New York Knickerbockers. Alterman was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Steve Eaton earned the save for Kansas City, his 3rd of the year. New York falls to 18-9.

Had Chris Taylor not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Taylor hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Bulls.

"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said New York manager Joaquin Placeholder.
