Captains Go 10 Innings to Beat Cleveland, 8-6
The San Diego Captains faced a tough opponent in Cleveland pitcher Bruce Cardenas, but found a way to pull out the victory at Lakefront Stadium by a final score of 8-6 in 10 innings. Cardenas went 8 innings and allowed 4 runs. The save went to Brian Meade, number 3 for him. Cleveland now has a record of 14-12.

Jorge Escobeda came through with a big-time hit for San Diego. The shortstop smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 8-6. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Exciting game to play in," said Escobeda. "Getting the win makes it even better."
