The Pittsburgh Industrials and Chicago Traders completed their game despite the inclement weather.

The Pittsburgh Industrials scored a convincing win at Allegheny Field, defeating the Chicago Traders, 14-3. One of the hitting stars was Don Keough, who finished 2nd in the NBL in OPS with .969 in 1966, who was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 and driving in 5. John Fagan earned the save for Pittsburgh, his 1st.

With Pittsburgh leading 9-2 in the bottom of the fifth, Keough came up to bat against Chicago pitcher Vern Marcell. Keough hit a knuckle curve to left for a 3-run home run. His 6th home run of the season put the Industrials on top, 12-2.

Keough said: "We didn't really let up all day. We kind of kept going and going."

The Traders drop to 11-15 and continue their inconsistent start to the 1973 season.
