Seagulls Score Late, Upend Northmen, 4-3
|
The San Francisco Seagulls scored a tight 4-3 win versus the Twin Cities Northmen at Twin Cities Stadium. San Francisco pitcher Tim Stambaugh held his own in the contest. The Northmen are now 10-16.
San Francisco used a clutch hit from Allan Houston to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Seagulls ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said San Francisco manager Al Borie.
