Cleveland Bobcats starter Myron Baird turned in a top-notch performance against the Los Angeles Blockbusters at Blockbuster Stadium. The result was a win for the Bobcats, 4-2. Baird, who is tied for 4th in the NBL in complete games with 2, went the distance for Cleveland. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. The Blockbusters fall to 12-16 and continue their uninspiring start to the 1972 season.

Making an impact for Cleveland was second baseman Jim McCusker. He drilled a double off Billy Duprey in the top of the second. For the game, McCusker was 1-4 with a double.
