Milwaukee Defeated By Bobcats, 5-2
|
No one was more impactful than Harold Batkin in the 5-2 Cleveland win over Milwaukee. Batkin, who finished 2nd in the NBL in on-base percentage with .440 in 1961, was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Tim Fried earned the save for Cleveland, his 4th of the year. The loss makes Milwaukee 13-15.
Bill Harper drew 1 walk for Cleveland. The 25-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Keith Williams. It was his 24th walk of the season.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Cleveland manager Daniel Mays.
