Riding the 3-hit performance of the 1964 Rookie of the Year Award winner John Darnell, the Dallas Wranglers defeated the Houston Drillers, 4-2. Art Stager earned the save for Dallas, his 2nd of the year. The Wranglers raised their record to 3-0.

The game turned with one out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Darnell hit a 2-run double off Francisco Castro. It propelled the Wranglers into the lead, 4-2.

"It wasn't a very good day at the ballpark," said Houston manager Steven Palps.
